Discussion with pro skier, engineer and entrepreneur Giray Dadali.

Super interesting discussion with Giray Dadali where we talked about a 1000 subjets including growing up in western New york, growing up skiing moguls at a small hill, being influenced by legends like David Crichton, The east coast scene in the 2000’s, filming with Meathead Films, moving to Utah at 18, Competing in all types of events, dealing with gnarly injuries, getting an engineering degree while pursuing skiing, working on the behind the scenes with J skis and 4FRNT and starting his own business, Daymaker touring.

Giray is not only a great skier, he is a super nice and smart guy who not only loves skiing, but also knows A LOT about it.

Giray (Gr-eye) Dadali is a pro skier and mechanical engineer of Turkish heritage who grew up in Bristol Valley, New York. Upon moving west to attend school and ski bigger mountains, he became known for many years as “Ahmet’s Brother”, referring to his pro skier brother Ahmet Dadali. Giray is shedding that moniker now as his personal brand and list of accomplishments keeps growing.

Giray used his engineering degree to co-found, Daymaker Touring, a binding adapter system to enable you to use your downhill ski gear to go touring on. He’s also a filmmaker producing “Of The Black Sea” in which he travels to Turkey to combine his love for skiing while discovering more about his Turkish heritage.

Giray Dadali spent his whole life in the shadow if his older brother, pro skier Ahmet Dadali.  While working to create a name for himself in the ski world, Giray realized he already had a name that everyone knew, Ahmet’s Brother.  Fast forward to today and Giray has had 3 signature Ahmet’s Brother Pro Model Skis and has finally stepped out from his brother’s shadow, kind of.  On top of all that, Giray is a schooled engineer who created and is currently selling the often sold out Daymaker Touring System.  His story is awesome and his experience, totally different than his brothers.
