Telling a tale of six months of sun, snow, and rain, over a dozen of skiing’s most talented athletes, hundreds of thousands of miles traveled, tens of thousands of vertical feet hiked, hundreds of quarts of 2-stroke snowmobile oil, a dozen speeding tickets and at least as many missed connecting flights, this year’s Level 1 film is indeed a VERY long story, short. Shot in high-definition across the frozen globe, from remote powder stashes of Hokkaido, Japan, to the bent metal and concrete of the East Coast of North America, and the fabled kicker zones of Austria, and everywhere in between. Level 1 furthers their innovative vision of skiing, continuing their tradition of captivating cinematography, inspired features and locations, and mindblowing skiing exploits in what will be THE story of the ’06 ski season.

Poor Boyz issued footage reveals the record size 37′ air on the largest hip ever built, a record height 23.5′ tree jib, unmatched urban rail assaults, avalanche-triggering big mountain lines, and of course the untouched back country skiing that Poor Boyz has been supplying for over a decade. WAR is the year’s best ammunition, see it to believe it.

If your’re a Poor Boyz fan, you’ve probably noticed PBP’s movies follow a formula: The worlds best riders + sick locations + sick action – filler = the best ski movie of the year. PBP’s 2007 release Yeah Dude follows the Poor Boyz tradition of scintillating action, sending crews to all points of the globe to capture the year’s best skiing. But when it came time to assemblethe pieces, PBP started expanding its repertoire. Once the snow melted, many of Yeah Dude’s athletes and crew members visited the Poor Boyz studios to give candid accounts of their seasons. The result is a much more intimate portrait of the Poor Boyz crew than you’re used to, but without any consequent lulls in the action. Yeah Dude gives you all the skiing action you expect from PBP. But Yeah Dude is unlike any ski movie you’ve seen before.

Release date: Fall 2005
Directed by: Henrik Rostrup, Kris Ostness, Howie Arnstad
Skiers: Tanner Hall, Jon Olsson, Mike Wilson, Sage Cattabriga, Henrik Windstedt, Sammy Carlson, Simon Dumont, Brandon Becker, Niklas Karlström, Nico Zacek, TJ Schiller, Corey Vanular, John Symms, Laurent Favre, Jacob Wester, PK Hunder, Espen Linnerud, Jon Larsson, Sebastian Garhammer, Stian Hagen, Oscar Scherlin
Legendary film maker Kris Ostness (Wind-Up Films/Flying Circus) has teamed up with new school film maker Henrik Rostrup (Push Films/Not Another Ski Movie) to form the company Teddybear Crisis. The crew revisits the classic Utah gaps that Ostness/Wind-Up Films pioneered years ago and discovers a few new ones on the way. Upper/Lower Flagstaff and Pyramid, all mandatory 90 foot spans, pale to Tanner Hall hitting 120 foot Chad’d5s Gap skiing backwards at 53mph and stomping a switch 900. The crew travels from unique backcountry features, super-sized park, kickers over half pipes, freeskiing in the Alps, Alaska and face shots in Utah. The intro was shot on 35mm film with a full rock video production crew in Oslo Norway, a just start for a ski film that is crawling out of the box with a new style and a fresh look at insane action. Filmed in Europe, Scandinavia, Utah, California, Alaska on 16mm and 35mm film.
