Discussion with ex-pro skier and filmmaker Nick Martini.
We talked about his whole story, starting with how he got into skiing, becoming a pro skier. His days as a competitive skier and filming with the biggest production companies in the business like Poor Boyz productions and TGR while also running his own production company, Stept. Talking about Stept, we also discussed how it started by filming his friends when he was 12 years old, became one of the most influential production company in skiing and is now based in LA working with some big time brands like Nike, Oakley, Ford and the NFL.
Nick Martini was supposed to be the biggest thing in skiing, and when he was healthy, he was going in that direction, but injuries got the best of Nick’s ski career. Good thing he was also an award-winning filmmaker who had plenty of downtime to hone his craft. These days, Nick’s Stept Productions has evolved into Stept Studios and what was a small crew based out of Colorado is now a thriving studio, employing 40+ people and continuing to live the dream.
