    Discussion with Axis boardshop owner and co-founder, Scott Reeves!

    Scott is an entrepreneur from Québec with a big passion for action sports. After many years working in a shop while completing an engineering degree, Scott teamed up with 2 friends to start Axis boardshop in 2002. What started out of a passion for action sports turned into an immediate success. Axis quickly became a staple in the Québec action sports scene with their deep involvement in the freeskiing, snowboarding and skateboarding scene. After a decade in business, Axis had a total of 9 shops open in the province of Québec before going back to only one physical location in the mid-2010s. Axis is now over 20 years old and still going strong in st-sauveur, Québec.

    In this episode we talked about a bunch of stuff! Scott’s entrepreneurship story, opening a boardshop in the early 2000s, the challenges of handling rapid growth in a business, the importance of giving back to the community and much much more

    Discussion with Olympic medalist, 3x X-Games gold medalist and freeski legend in the making, Colby Stevenson!

    Colby is a skier from Park city, Utah. He first blew up on the scene starting in 2014 with shots in Stept’s ‘Ten and two, followed by appearances in Good Company and Level 1 films. He also got great results in competitions, shined in events like West Coast sessions and in video content like the SLVSH games. Despite some setbacks with major injuries, Colby kept going and eventually established himself as one of the top freeskiers in the world. Its been incredible to see Colby Evolve in the past years not only as a top tier skier, but also as a person who showed great perseverance through the personal challenges he faced.

    In this episode, we went through all of his insane 2023 season. we discussed his recent shoulder injury that happened during last fall’s Stubai world cup. We talked about the incredible season he has despite this injury. Getting a podium in Stubai, Winning gold at X-Games slopestyle and bronze at X-Games Knuckle huck, Winning Kings & Queens of Corbet, Winning Dew Tour and 2nd at Red Bull unrailistic. We also talked about Colby’s time in between comps where he filmed for the upcoming Good Company, MSP and TGR movies.

    Discussion with Freeski legend and street skiing GOAT, Cam Riley.

    Cam is one of the most prolific film skier of his generation. He starred in movies every year from 2005 to 2020, Filming with Stept productions, poor boyz productions and TGR. His streak of segments from 2010 to 2015 were some of the best street skiing segments of all time. Cam is also unique being not only a skier, but also a filmer and director who helped shape Stept into what is it today.

    With such a big career, we touched on many different subjects and moments ranging from his first breakthrough segment in Stept’s network, Filming for the documentary ‘For lack of Better’, getting an invite for X Games Real ski, filming with TGR and much much more.

His recent push on social media regarding FIS’s pay of freeski events compared to other sports.

    Kyle has been working in skiing for close to 20 years now. His immense resume includes working on some of the most classic level 1 films like Realtime, Turbo, Refresh, Eye trip, Afterdark and Sunny. Directing 2013’s the wallisch project. 
    Working alongside AJ Dakoulas on numerous Good Company videos. Putting out some of the best edits in skiing like the New Era videos, the original Jiberish breck edit or Tom Wallisch’s real ski videos to name a few. Kyle’s contribution to freeskiing is gigantic.

    In this episode we talked about growing up in Ohio as a skier, Joining Level 1, being a part of their golden years, the evolution of ski filmmaking and street skiing, Filming this season with Tom Wallisch and Keegan Kilbride and much much more!

    Discussion with skier, Freeski judge and marketing director, Jason Arens.

    Jason is heavily involved in freeskiing, both as a marketing director and co-owner at surface skis / joystick / causwell and as a freeski judge.

    He’s been involved as a judge for over 10 years now and has become the worldwide reference for freeski judging. The events he’s been a part of include the Olympics, X Games, Dew tour, world championships, world cups and much more.

    In this episode, we followed up on our last talk from episodes 30 & 31, that were the inception that led me into judging 3 years ago now. We went deep into judging, talked about the 2025 X Games, the current state of pipe skiing, the intricaties of freeski judging and his upcoming role as head judge of next winter’s Olympics in Italy. Plus, we also touched on the business side he’s involved in with Surface skis and how the industry is shaken with USA tariffs and last season’s rebirth of the outerwear brand Causwell.

    Discussion with ex pro skier, freeski legend and industry professional, Khai Krepela

    Khai is one of the Greatests of street skiing. He blew up onto the scene in 2012 with his standout segment in Toy Soldier productions’ Act natural. Khai then went on a legendary 10 year roll where he filmed with Poor Boyz in 2013 and then joined Level 1 for their films Less, small world, pleasure, habit and romance. His contribution also includes shots in 4bi9 and good company projects, competing in X Games real ski, multiple appearances in LINE’s traveling circus and numerous Good enough edits. After his ski career, Khai hustled and managed to get a job at K2 as a senior Marketing manager. After a few years there, khai moved on and is now in a new role as the CEO at Hinterland skis.

    In this episode we talked about Khai’s upbringing and what lead him to pursue the goal of becoming a pro skier. We talked about filming with toy soldier productions,
    Linking up with Poor Boyz for the detroit segment in Tracing Skylines, one of freeskiing’s most unique segment ever. Joining Level 1 and filming with them for many years, always taking time to film with his crew at Good Enough, filming with Line Traveling Circus, the transition from a pro skier career to working in the industry, how it was working at K2 skis, his new job as CEO at Hinterland skis and much much more.
